Whether you are organizing a large party for dozens of friends and work colleagues or a small family gathering, you can spice up your festive get-together this year with some beautiful personalized Moscow mule mugs, made from solid copper. And if you are looking for serving suggestions, look no further! In today’s blog post, we’re going to run through our favorite festive dessert/drink serving suggestions for copper drinking vessels

Great Christmas Drink Serving Suggestions for Moscow Mule Mugs

Let’s kick off our serving ideas with some fabulous festive drinks that will look and taste great in a traditional copper cup:

Whiskey Ginger

This is not just a great festive drink to serve in a copper drinking vessel, it is also one of the easiest to make. Simply combine your favorite whiskey and ginger ale (or ginger beer) in your preferred quantities, garnish with a slice of fresh lime, and enjoy! If you are feeling under pressure due to all the preparations for your Christmas party, whiskey gingers will help to lighten your workload and get everybody into the party mood too.

Christmas Martini

This festive twist on a classic cocktail is made from a dried fruit syrup, mixed with bourbon, cherry brandy, and ice. You can make your own syrup from dark brown sugar, mixed dried fruit, and a cinnamon stick, or you may be able to buy an already-made version in your local food store. Either way, we guarantee your guests will love this special Christmas cocktail and its inviting red-orange color will compliment your custom copper mugs perfectly.

Snowball

Made from advocaat, lemonade, and ice, the classic snowball is a popular choice at all times of year but never more so than during the festive celebrations. Prepare to order as your guests arrive, garnish with a bright red, maraschino cherry and leave everyone to get acquainted! For a slightly different taste, you can add an optional dash of lime juice or lime cordial: 10ml-15ml (2-3 teaspoons) should do the trick.

Gingerbread Martini

This is another take on the classic cocktail that has been enjoyed by sophisticated drinkers in bars around the world for many years. This time, we’re going to take a ginger syrup, made from dark brown sugar, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, and lemon peel, then add vodka, hazelnut liqueur, herbal digestif, and ice cold water, before shaking and serving.

Peppermint Mojito

Cuba’s national drink is a tasty treat throughout the year and the addition of mint syrup makes it perfect for Christmas parties all around the world. You can either buy the syrup from your preferred supplier or make it at home. If you decide to make it yourself, all you will need is water, sugar, and peppermint extract. Once prepared, add freshly squeezed lime juice, white rum, and sparkling water before garnishing with a peppermint candy cane (optional).

Sloe Gin Fizz

This winter delight is a mixture of sloe gin (prepared by steeping sloes in gin with added sugar for 2 to 3 months), lemon juice, and sugar syrup, which is shaken vigorously before adding sparkling water and serving. It’s a beautiful dark red, fruity cocktail that looks fantastic in a solid copper drinking vessel. If you haven’t prepared your own sloe gin beforehand, you can probably pick some up at your nearest specialist drinks retailer.

The above drinks are just a few suggestions to get you started: there are many other cocktails, mocktails, and other beverages - both alcoholic and non-alcoholic - that you can serve in beautiful engraved copper mugs.

Festive Desserts Served in Copper Drinking Vessels

If you are planning to serve food as well as drink at your Christmas gathering, we recommend that you incorporate one or more of the following deserts into your menu, served from copper drinking vessels:

Moscow Mule Pudding

This delicious pudding is made from butter, caster sugar, eggs, lime zest/juice, ginger, self-raising flour, milk vodka, and icing sugar, with baby mint leaves to garnish. You can find plenty of variations on this recipe online, along with detailed instructions on how to prepare and cook the dish. Like its namesake, the Moscow mule cocktail, it is traditionally served in solid copper mugs.

Eggnog Pudding

Eggnog pudding is a combination of beaten egg yolks, cream, whiskey or rum (the eggnog part of the recipe), with heavy cream, granulated sugar, salt, cornstarch, ground nutmeg, more egg yolks, rum extract, and unsalted butter. All you need to do is mix the dry ingredients together in a saucepan, beat in the egg yolks, stir in the eggnog, then add the butter and rum. Now just strain, cover, and chill, before serving in your customized Moscow mule mugs.

Snowball Cookies

Made from all-purpose flour, walnuts, sugar, salt, vanilla extract, butter, and powdered sugar, these delightful little cookies are perfect for guests of all ages.

Virtually any dessert you can think of could work well in copper drinking vessels but those listed above are our favorites. And remember, if you don’t already have any copper drinking mugs you can buy some right now in our online store.
