Moscow Mule Round-Up: The Best Recipes From the Last Month

Posted by Paykoc Imports ,17th Dec 2014

Doesn't time fly by? A month has already passed since we did our first Moscow Mule round-up post and as we draw ever closer to Christmas, we felt it appropriate to scour the web once again and pull together some of the most exciting recipes just in time for you to use them at your end of year gatherings and get-togethers. We know you've been waiting for this so we're just going to get on with it!

The Roasted Pink Lady Moscow Mule

We came across this one a few days ago and it really is a cracker and extremely well suited to the Christmas period. Ginger, cinnamon and sugar are all things that make you think of the holidays and the roasted pink lady apples make the drink look absolutely irresistible. In fact from the moment I came across the picture it was screaming "DRINK ME" (I don't normally hear drinks talking to me...honest...). The only thing that isn't to our liking is the lack of a copper mug, although the glass jar does look kind of cool in this instance. To check out the full recipe (and those beautiful pictures), head over to Beautiful Booze's page.

The Grapefruit-Rosemary Moscow Mule

If you want to add color to your Mule this is one of the best ways to do it. Unlike Serena Wolf, who published the recipe on her website Domesticate-me.com (check out the site for more pictures and more details on how to make this cocktail), I wasn't actually a big fan of grapefruit when I was younger but as I've grown older I've gradually gotten a taste for it, so much so that I'd probably snap it right out of your hand nowadays. Just reading through the list of ingredients in this recipe is enough to get me salivating...fresh grapefruit juice, fresh lime juice, vodka, ginger beer and rosemary. I'm now imagining that blend of amazing flavors hitting my taste buds, leaving me completely refreshed. In fact I'm half tempted to get on the phone to Santa and tell him I'd like to alter my gift list. I want a pack of these and the ingredients needed to make the Grapefruit-Rosemary Moscow Mule!

The Gluten-Free Moscow Mule

We actually featured this particular recipe on our Facebook page a couple of weeks ago, but as I personally know a couple of people that have recently committed to a gluten-free diet, I decided that this recipe had to be included in our pre-Christmas round-up. After all, what kind of friend would you be if you sat there supping on your Moscow Mule at Christmas while your best mate, who just so happens to be gluten-free, has to make do with a regular drink (queue dramatic music)! Especially when it's so simple to cater to their needs. All you need to do is swop out the regular vodka that you use for a gluten free type (Amanda uses Tito's Vodka in her post, which you can check out here). Other than that's it's business as usual!

The Cherry Moscow Mule

Morgan is spot on when she says that "simple is better " during the holiday period when she introduces her take on our favorite drink, the Cherry Moscow Mule. This comment highlights one of the best things about Moscow Mules; they're just so darn easy to make! I'd almost go as far as to say that I could make one with a blindfold on and with my hands tied behind my back...almost... With this particular version of the drink, the cherry juice and the lime juice combine to give a fruity, but not overly sweet taste and the ginger beer provides a nice kick (Moscow MULE...I hope you got that one?!) to every sip. Head over to Morgan's site for more details.

That's all we've got time for today folks! We hope that you get a chance to try some of these recipes out over the holiday period and if you do, please let us know how they went. Also, feel free to come up with your own take on the Moscow Mule and get in touch with us; if we like it, we might feature it in our next round up! Just in case you missed the first round-up what we did for whatever reason, you can check out which recipes made the cut by clicking here. Finally, we would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and would like to thank you all for the support you've given us during 2014!
